Brillux Festodur Grund 949 – pigmented, hardening primer

Brillux Festodur Grund 949 is a pigmented primer with a hardening effect that promotes adhesion, suitable for both exterior and interior use. It serves as a primer for subsequent emulsion coatings, e.g. on plaster (MG PII, PIII), slightly chalky emulsion paint finishes and brickwork.

This solvent-based, aromatic-free primer evens out the absorbency of the substrate, seals nicotine and water stains, and reduces the risk of efflorescence on concrete. It is also suitable for improving adhesion on smooth, non-absorbent or slightly absorbent substrates such as oil-based and lacquer paints; in such cases, adhesion should be tested on a test area.

What sets this product apart

  • Adhesion-promoting, pigmented, hardening primer.
  • Applications: for exterior and interior use, weather-resistant.
  • Equalises the absorbency of the substrate.
  • Seals nicotine and water stains.
  • Allows water vapour to diffuse and is compatible with polystyrene.
  • Reduces the risk of efflorescence on concrete.
  • Contains solvents, free from aromatic compounds.

How much primer do I need?

Coverage is approx. 150–200 ml/m² per coat.

  • 12.5 litres: approx. 62–83 m²

These coverage figures apply to a single coat and may vary depending on the substrate and application method.

On non-absorbent surfaces, adhesion must be tested on a test area beforehand.
