Brillux PCC Base Protection 801 – mineral-based corrosion protection and bonding agent

Brillux PCC Base Protection 801 is a polymer-modified, mineral-based corrosion protection and bonding agent between existing concrete and PCC mortars. It is used in concrete repair within the Brillux PCC/SPCC concrete repair system, both externally and internally.

It protects reinforcing steel through a passivating effect and ensures the adhesion of subsequent PCC mortars, e.g. as a bonding agent between concrete elements and PCC Filling Mortar 805. This single-component material is mixed with water only; it inhibits the penetration of CO₂, is vapour-permeable, water-impermeable and resistant to saponification.

How much material do I need?

As a bonding agent, approx. 2–4 kg of dry mortar per m² per layer is required. For corrosion protection, consumption is approx. 150 g per running metre of 16 mm diameter reinforcing steel, including one coat.

  • 15 kg as a bonding primer: approx. 3.8–7.5 m² per layer.
  • 15 kg as a bonding primer: approx. 50 running metres for two coats on 16 mm diameter reinforcing steel.

Coverage depends on the substrate, the dimensions of the steel and the application method.
