Product information "Lignodur FlexGuard 871 Protect"

Brillux Lignodur FlexGuard 871 Protect – emulsion paint with film protection against algae and fungi

Brillux Lignodur FlexGuard 871 Protect is the ‘Protect’ grade of this highly weather-resistant, water-based emulsion paint for non-dimensionally stable and partially dimensionally stable timber components used outdoors. The additional film protection safeguards the coating against algae and fungal growth, particularly on surfaces exposed to moisture, such as soffits at risk of condensation.

This silk-matt paint offers high UV and weather resistance with excellent colour stability; it is highly vapour-permeable whilst also being water-repellent. It is also suitable for use on paintable plastics, as well as on zinc and galvanised components.

What sets this product apart

  • Protect formula: Protect quality with film protection against algae and fungal growth.
  • Formulation: Water-based, for exterior use, silk matt.
  • High UV and weather resistance, high colour stability.
  • Highly breathable and water-repellent.
  • Good elasticity, does not become brittle.

What does ‘Protect’ mean?

This version features an additional protective film to guard the coating against algae and fungal growth and is designed for external use. The protective effect depends, amongst other things, on the location and moisture exposure.

How much paint do I need?

Coverage is approx. 120–150 ml/m² per coat.

  • 3 litres: approx. 20–25 m²
  • 10 litres: approx. 66–83 m²

These coverage figures apply to a single coat and may vary depending on the substrate and application method.
