Brillux Lignodur TopGuard 280 Protect – water-based wood stain with film protection

Brillux Lignodur TopGuard 280 Protect is the ‘Protect’ grade of water-based wood stain, based on modern hybrid binder technology, for weather-resistant finishes on hardwoods and softwoods. The film protection safeguards the coating in outdoor applications against algae and fungal growth.

As a moisture-regulating, single-component system offering a high level of protection, it is suitable for dimensionally stable, limited and non-dimensionally stable timber components. The satin-gloss wood stain has a long open time, dries quickly and emphasises the wood grain.

What sets this product apart

  • Protect features: Protect quality with film protection against algae and fungal attack.
  • Base material: Water-based wood glaze, hybrid binder technology.
  • Applications: for exterior use, satin finish.
  • Long open time, quick-drying, good penetration.
  • Enhances the appearance of surfaces, high colour stability.
  • Highly breathable, moisture-regulating.

What does ‘Protect’ mean?

This formulation features additional film protection against algae and fungal growth on the coating and is intended for external use. The protective effect depends, amongst other things, on the location and moisture exposure.

How much glaze do I need?

Coverage is approximately 80 ml/m² per coat.

  • 3 litres: approx. 38 m²
  • 10 litres: approx. 125 m²

These coverage figures apply to a single coat and may vary depending on the substrate and application method.
