Brillux MP-Dickschicht 229 – decorative corrosion protection for metal and zinc

Brillux MP-Dickschicht 229 is designed to provide efficient and decorative corrosion protection on primed iron and steel substrates, as well as directly on zinc, galvanised substrates, bare aluminium and paintable plastics such as rigid PVC. It is suitable for industrial buildings and steel structures, masts, silos and crane systems, as well as for the renovation of intact existing paint finishes.

This single-component, thick-film coating based on a copolymer resin is silk-matt, decorative and weather-resistant. It dries by physical means, does not become brittle and is resistant to industrial environments. It has been tested specifically for use on steel and galvanised steel as part of a system with Multigrund 227.

How much paint do I need?

When applied by brush or roller at a dry film thickness of approx. 40–50 µm: approx. 120 ml/m².

  • 750 ml: approx. 6.2 m²
  • 3 litres: approx. 25 m²
  • 10 litres: approx. 83 m²

When applied by airless spray, including 20% spray loss: approx. 250 ml/m².

  • 750 ml: approx. 3 m²
  • 3 litres: approx. 12 m²
  • 10 litres: approx. 40 m²

These coverage figures apply to a single coat and may vary depending on the substrate and application method.
