Bamboo, which symbolised resilience and prosperity, was an exotic choice for interior design and formed a contrast to the heavy, typically English furniture of the time. Realised in monochrome colours, the pattern has a sleek, modern look.
The backing is made of high-quality non-woven fabric. This makes hanging the wallpaper very easy. Paste is applied to the wall, and then the wallpaper is hung directly onto the wall.

The wallpaper manufacturer Cole & Son was founded in 1873 in North London. In the 50s and 60s of the last century, Cole & Son worked together with numerous contemporary artists. This resulted in wallpaper classics such as the vintage wallpaper Woods or the shabby chic wallpaper Hick's Hexagon.
