Product information "Wallpaper Rue Jacob - Rue Jacob en Fête"
The panoramic wallpaper shows a detailed urban scene with iconic residential buildings, balconies and façades arranged on both sides of a small square with trees and a lantern in the style of the famous 19th century Haussmanian gas lanterns.
The architectural elements are finely crafted and form a calm, symmetrical composition. The wallpaper looks elegant in the room and gives the wall an atmospheric, urban depth with French flair.
The panoramic wallpaper consists of individual panels, each 1 metre wide and 3 metres high. A left-hand house façade (Rue Jacob or Rue Jacob en Fête), the square in the centre (Place Fürstenberg) and a right-hand house façade (Colonne Morris or Colonne Morris en Fête) can be combined to create an overall picture. Each of the panels must be ordered separately.
The wallpaper is dedicated to the style icon Madeleine Castaing (1894-1992). Castaing was an internationally renowned French antiques dealer, interior designer and patron of the arts. She was famous for her revolutionary, slightly eccentric style.
Designer Catherine Gran, who created the wallpaper, was once a marvelling visitor to the shop that Castaing ran in Rue Jacob. She still raves about the eclectic selection of products today.
The backing is made of high-quality non-woven fabric. This makes hanging the wallpaper very easy. Paste is applied to the wall, and then the wallpaper is hung directly onto the wall.
