Maritime motif
The mural is based on a picture by the famous illustrator Jacqueline Duhême in 1962. It was created in view of the maiden voyage of the France, the longest Atlantic ship in the world at the time. The pupil of Henri Matisse is considered the inventor of the reportage drawing and followed Jackie Kennedy and Charles de Gaulle around the world. She was also employed for twenty years as a cartoonist at Elle magazine, where she illustrated cooking recipes and children's stories.
The total motif consists of 2 sets (A, B). Each set contains 3 panels (each 0.50m x 3.30m) and covers an area of 1.50m x 3.30m. All 2 sets together cover an area of 3.00m x 3.30m. With additional sets, the overall motif can be extended horizontally as desired, like a wallpaper.
