The wallpaper shows a historical floral pattern by Paul Dumas from the Jannelli and Volpi archives.
The wallpaper is still preserved in its historical version in the Villa Fogazzaro Roi on Lake Lugano. The Italian writer Antonio Fogazzaro wrote his famous novel "Piccolo mondo antico" here, which was published in 1896.
Jannelli & Volpi's archive contains designs by designers from all over the world, including works by the Paul Dumas studio, a Parisian wallpaper and fabric manufacturer that has been active since 1906. Some of Paul Dumas' designs have also been included in the collections of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs de Paris, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
