Great Ormond Street - Bird Wallpaper by Little Greene

Little Greene's London Wallpapers collection was inspired by eight historic wallpapers from the archives of English Heritage. Dating from 1760 to 1890, the wallpapers were originally made to decorate elegant London homes.

Great Ormond Street - ca. 1890

This is a colourful parrot motif that borrows heavily from a series of multi-layered wallpapers removed from an early 18th century terraced house opposite Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital. This design was machine made on cellulose paper in the late 19th century.

Available in six colourways.

The backing is made of high-quality non-woven fabric. This makes hanging the wallpaper very easy. Paste is applied to the wall, and then the wallpaper is hung directly onto the wall.

Little Greene Paint Company Limited is a family-run English paint and wallpaper manufacturer dedicated to producing exclusive paints and wallpapers. With a history dating back to 1773, the factory on the outskirts of Manchester is one of the oldest industrial sites for paint production in England. Many of Little Greene’s wallpapers revive designs that had lain forgotten in archives for decades. They are produced using intricate printing processes on high-quality non-woven backing, which gives them their refined, traditional texture and elegant appearance.
