Product information "Wallpaper Persian Tulip - Umber/ Mineral Blue"
The wallpaper shows artfully arranged tulips and tendrils that merge into one another in flowing lines. Originally created as a textile design, the pattern is characterised by elegant teardrop-shaped motifs and reflects the appreciation that William Morris and John Henry Dearle had for traditional Persian aesthetics. The striking diagonal layout draws the eye across the wall.
The design was discovered in the well-known research facility The Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Garden in San Marino, California. It has one of the world's three largest archives of works by William Morris and his companions. William Morris is regarded as the founder of the English Arts and Crafts movement. Together with the traditional English brand Morris & Co, the sketch was carefully finished and authentically coloured. The pattern creates typical Arts and Crafts walls with a unique floral charm and classic effect.
The product is produced on a high quality non-woven backing. This makes it very easy to apply: The wall is pasted and the panels are glued directly onto the wall.

The wallpapers by William Morris are a classic of English wallpaper design. They suit both classical and modern interior concepts.
William Morris (1834-1896) was an English textile designer, poet, writer and translator. A pioneer of the English Arts and Crafts movement, a forerunner of German Jugendstil, he helped revive traditional British textiles and crafts.
In 1861 he and partners founded Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co, which became Morris & Co in 1875, a manufacturer of furniture and decorative arts. The company was inspired by medieval aesthetics and craftsmanship and had a great influence on the interior design of churches and houses in the early 20th century.
In 1940, Morris & Co closed. However, the wallpaper designs are produced and marketed to this day by Sanderson under its Morris & Co brand name.
