The wallpaper shows a playful pattern of curved plant tendrils with blossoms and buds that interweave over a large area. May Morris, daughter of William Morris, was herself an important artist of the Arts and Crafts movement. Her pattern of intertwined tulips and tendrils is based on a late Victorian fabric design and epitomises craftsmanship and rhythmic harmony. The lines create a lively but balanced structure. The design is both decorative and harmonious, lending the room an elegant lightness.
The backing is made of high-quality non-woven fabric. This makes hanging the wallpaper very easy. Paste is applied to the wall, and then the wallpaper is hung directly onto the wall.
