Product information "Intelligent All Surface Primer - Tabernacle 308"

Tabernacle 308 - A light green colour from the National Trust archives. Overlooking the Weald of Kent, Chartwell was the prestigious home of Winston Churchill from 1922 until his death in 1965. He and Lady Churchill spent many hours enjoying the grounds and gardens - he with his varied interests ranging from flora to bricklaying, and she as an accomplished tennis and croquet player. When the tennis court was converted into a croquet lawn in 1949, a small wooden pavilion was built to match the garden furniture, which was painted in this green colour. This historic green colour reflects nature both indoors and outdoors. Use Tabernacle together with French Grey Dark or Rolling Fog Dark to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Or combine it with Obsidian Green for a striking contrast.

Little Greene stands for paints that are so much more than just wall decoration. The brand combines over 250 years of time-honoured English paint-making tradition with modern, sustainable formulations. Every shade in its colour chart is carefully developed, often inspired by historical hues, and lends rooms character and atmosphere.

Little Greene

The Little Greene Paint Company is an independent English paint manufacturer dedicated to producing high quality paints and wallpapers. With records dating back to 1773, the parent factory on the outskirts of Manchester, which is still in use today, is one of the oldest English paint and dye production sites.

Its location at the confluence of the Rivers Irk and Irwell was popular because of the fast flowing clean water available there from the Pennines. The natural resource of water was used both to power the paint grindstones and as an important ingredient in the products.

The first paints were based on natural resins and pigments and were similar to those used by the great painters of the day. Today, Little Greene still uses many of the tried and tested substances that were used back then to make its paints.

All colours are characterised by a special depth of colour: Their underlying hues change subtly in different lighting conditions, giving the colors their unique character. This is made possible by special formulations and a pigment content that is up to 40 percent higher than many other colours.
