Little Greene Wallpaper Ombré Stripe Lichen/ Doric
Ombré Stripe - stripe wallpaper by Little Greene
Little Greene celebrates the harmonious historical marriage of colour and wallpaper with its Painted Papers striped wallpaper collection. All ten designs are more than just plain striped wallpaper, as they are based on historical patterns found in various archives, including English Heritage and the Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester. Traditional printing methods were used in the production of these wallpapers, where originally paint was applied instead of ink - similar to the manufacturing method in previous centuries, which is also the reason for the charming surface texture.
Ombré Stripe - paper wallpaper, ca. 1956
This design, typical of the 20th century, is an English pattern from the 1950s and was found in the Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester. The pattern shows a group of fine solid white stripes against a matt background. In fact, it is the space between the stripes that visually achieves a slight movement.
The more complex striped versions each have three additional background colours, while the plain versions are made in matching colours, specially matched to the different elements of the stripe, making them highly flexible wallpaper ranges that can be used in combination in both traditional and contemporary homes.
Available in four colourways.
