Casein Distemper is a masterful interpretation of traditional distemper. The addition of natural casein makes this finish significantly more durable than classic distempers, without compromising their outstanding breathability. With an ultra-matt finish of just 2%, it is the authentic choice for the restoration of historic buildings where a vapour-permeable coating on plaster or stucco is essential. It really comes into its own on stucco, as it does not ‘smother’ the fine details of the ornamentation.

What is casein distemper?
Casein distemper is the modern version of a glue-based paint. It is completely breathable. The added casein ensures that the colour pigments are bound more effectively than in a pure, so-called ‘soft distemper’ paint – the result is a smudge-resistant yet highly open-pored surface with unrivalled colour depth.
