Modern Eggshell is the most hard-wearing finish in the Farrow & Ball range. This water-based paint has been developed for surfaces that need to withstand heavy daily wear and tear. It is also the ideal choice for floors. With an elegant satin sheen (40% gloss), the product offers an easy-care finish that remains stable and colourfast for years to come. As a more robust and glossier alternative to Flat Eggshell, this paint combines classic English colour depth with exceptional durability.

Applications
Modern Eggshell is a truly versatile product for demanding interior projects. Thanks to its special formulation, this glossy paint is hard-wearing enough for use on wooden floorboards or primed concrete floors in living areas. It is also the go-to solution for high-quality upcycling of kitchen fronts, as well as for painting stair treads and skirting boards. On metal surfaces and radiators, Modern Eggshell impresses with its excellent adhesion and heat resistance.
Application
The paint is characterised by minimal dripping and excellent flow, which minimises the formation of roller marks. As a water-based product, the paint can be recoated after a short time, which significantly reduces project duration – particularly for flooring work.
For a perfect finish, it must be applied in two coats using a high-quality synthetic paint roller or a brush with synthetic bristles.
To ensure optimum adhesion and maximum colour depth, it is essential to prepare the surface using the appropriate Farrow & Ball primer. This ensures even absorption and guarantees the longevity of the finish.
